Would adding a SS hood and wing on a Z28 make me a poser? Just as the title says. I already have the hood, but it is a FFI hood with the 96-97 scoop (the larger one). I need something to make my rear look good (for the mustang guys:p). I love the SS wing, but do not want to be a 'SS wannabe'. I am considering a RS wing as a alternative. Ideas?

look at all the other Fbody guys with FRC's that have "CORVETTE" spelled loud and clear on top of them, same thing with the Z06 calipers, and numerous other things
your just using available, interchangable GM parts to customize your personal car
do what you want to do, basically

Re: Would adding a SS hood and wing on a Z28 make me a poser? Try a Sport Wing from RK Sport. I have one with 800 Body Kit and an SS hood. I get lots of compliments.

Re: Would adding a SS hood and wing on a Z28 make me a poser? Yeah, it's cool. Just don't put SS badges on it. The only thing I have a problem with is, especially with classic cars, when people try to pass a car off as something that it is not and rip them off. Just be honest if you sell it.

Re: Would adding a SS hood and wing on a Z28 make me a poser? I don't think its bad. But when you do add the hood and spoiler, don't start telling everyone it is an "SS". Thats pretty lame. At least when you tell them it is a Z/28, it makes it look like you care enough about your car to upgrade the body panels, so they become "customized".

Re: Would adding a SS hood and wing on a Z28 make me a poser? no it wouldnt but as was said above, dont add the ss badges or tell people its an ss. theres a couple dorks around here with ws6 badges and a hood with regular t/a wheels. THAT looks ghey IMO.

If you decide to put in ss spoilers get it oem or from a wrecked ss, As for me the after market spoiler, I had to do alot of PITA **** , to make it fit. but its on now and i love the way it looks. Im gonna be getting my ss hood from the dealership after i get my rims.

I could care less if someone puts a SS hood,spoiler, and emblems on a Z28...so what! These cars cars for christs sake! Whats the difference if I paid 30k for a "real" SS and someone doing a COMPLETE upgrade from his Z28 to a SS. I mean the total job: appearance, suspension and power upgrades. As long as they are not telling people its a "real" SS and/or trying to get more money on a sale because the car is an "SS", that is cheating and lying. I also have a 1998 Z28 that down the road I may decide to turn it into a SS "REPLICA" and I don't care what anyone else has to say about it.

I have an SS and can't stand seeing guys driving a Z28 one day and then see the same car with the hood and emblems the next day, but without the spoiler etc. Just buy the SS in the first place!! But if you keep the SS emblems off, no prob.

Re: Would adding a SS hood and wing on a Z28 make me a poser? I have acutally decided to get the RS wing, (see sig). I got a deal for one off a wrecked Camaro RS. It will make my car resemble the famous ZL1 Camaro, the one with the 572 ci engine.
