Default Help with head lights!

Just started happening the other day. When i turn on my park/makers head lights come up. Never had this problem before. Is there a controller for it or just a bad switch? Thanks any help is great.

Pretty sure it's your headlight gears. Do a search and you'll find alot of people have had the same problem.

hmmm i know if you turn on headlights, than park the headlights stay up, so im guessing it is possible for something to go wrong here. i honestly wouldnt worry if thats the only problem though. do you ever even put the park lights on?

Agree with blindxeyed - when the headlight gears start to go out the headlights get screwy

Could try replacing the headlight control module. Not sure where it is on the 98-02's, but on the 93-97's is right below the fuse box under the hood. It's a square device with a single harness connected to it. Could try picking one up from a junkyard and swapping it out. I would imagine it shouldn't cost too much. Should be able to use one from any 93-02 model.

Dont bother with the module...Mine did the EXACT same thing about a month ago. So i started out by pulling off the shroud around the lights. I was expecting to find a short of some kind, perhaps a wire would be chaffed and hitting ground or something. Well i didnt find anything visually other than some corrosion. Well i unplugged the harness on each side going to the lights. I went ahead and got out some contact cleaner and cleaned up all the contacts because of course there was corrosion on the pins. After i did this and plugged the lights back up...no more pop up when just the parking lights were on...Hope this helps.

Cool I'll try that before throwing parts at it.
