New HU is on the way..
The HU i just won on ebay is the Pioneer AVIC-F900BT.. Brand New 540.99
I like was going to go for the D3, but i really liked the graphical interface this one has to over and the navigation maps look better also
This unit over the D3 has bluetooth built in, the GPS is ran off an internal HDD which is preloaded with the maps, the screen is a tad bit smaller, 5.8 over the 6.2 d3, but the resolution is higher meaning better lookin graphics. D3 480x234, 900bt 800x480. The just released a new firmware 2.0 which fixed many of the isses as well as the boot time. It takes about 30 seconds for it to boot over the old firmware that took a min or more.. i can live with 30 secs since u waste about a few warming up the car and gett situated..
I got the HD radio tuner since i live in thephilly area (have lots of HD channels) and the xm tuner off Crutchfield.. I couldnt find any cheaper on ebay but by 5 bucks. there were some that were 59.99 but had a 30 dollar shipping fee (that where they get you). crutchfield has the xm for 89 bucks and the hd for 99..
I also purchased the GMOS-LAN-2 not the LAN-1 b/c i got the BOSE amp in the rear.. I made an offer on ebay and got that for 69.99 brand new. In the description from metra, the GMOS LAN 2 retains the chimes, onstar and factory amp as well as the TURN SIGNAL chime. Happy i dont have to use a clicker like the GMOS Lan 1..
I also got the metra kit for 15 at my local audio store...
So overall here is my saving..
AVIC-F900bt - 504.99 Reg Priced = 1099.99 (899.99) on sale at crutch
XM Tuner - 89.99 Reg Priced 99.99
HD Tuner - 99.99 reg 99.99
GMOS Lan 2 - 69.99 Reg priced 149.99
Metra Kit - 15.99 Reg 19.99
Total Cost $779.96 Saved 689 bucks.. Thank you ebay... lol
Once i recieve the items and get them installed, i post pics. I plan on getting the steering wheel contol at a later date...

Sweet, you're gonna like the deck. I got mines from circuit city as they were closing down for $439, I've had it in the car about a month now. I don't know if yours is going to come with the 2.0 software update already but if it doesn't make sure you do it. The boot up time is a lot quicker with the update. The only thing I notice is that when I have my SD card in (16 gig, have about 8 gigs in it so far) the boot up time is a lot longer and the system lags when using the navigation. I have to try and update the bluetooth software again because every time it connects to my phone the deck crashes and reboots. But overall I love the unit.

yea i read all the reviews about the fiirmware.. the one i got has it installed.. there a big sticker saying 2.0 on the box lol..
as for circuit silly, how did u get your for under 500 bucks.. do you have the 700bt? i went to two of them and the 700bt was 700 bucks at both..??
i know that the 700bt compared to the 900bt is that it doesnt have the dvd player and the only difference from the 900bt to the 90bt is the 90bt has 4volt pre outs instead of the 2.2v the 900bt has..

This is the unit in daylight off.. The metra dash kits is the best looking kit thats close to stock..
This is the unit on at night with my new splash screen
This is a pic of the navigation map.. Its awesome.. Very detailed and will show 3D building when your in a city or famous landmark..
pic of GPS location
GPS options
MSN Direct - Requires Subscription but you can get the weather, movie times, gas prices and see what the stations your near are offering..
Top Menu
AV Source Menu. You can hook up jus about anything.. All i got is the dvd, xm, HD radio fm am.. Thats it..
XM Radio Interface
Bluetooth Mic location. Ran it up above the rearview mirror..
Bluetooth Phone Settings..
Contact List. You can trasfer your contact list on your phone over into the unit and when your connect with phone, can can call ppl from there...
Last but not least, HD Radio.. I can say that this is a nice feature. Almost every station in myarea has an HD feed. And some have 2 of them. The sound quality is amazing plus all your AM stations are FM quality..
The installation went smooth.. The turn signal chime that comes with the GMOS Lan 2 sound gay, its sounds like your speakers are poping lol.. I will have to get use to it..
The sound is 10 times better than it use to be.. I even have the bose amp and it made the amp grow some *****, it sounds f"in awesome..
Lots of wires, lots and lots.. It was fun trying to get them pushed down the side so i can pop the unit in..
All my wires are not seen. The xm wires are ran through the door sill panels up to the front.. The hd radio is right below he unit, gps and bluetooth both run up the side panel..
Overall Installation Time about 3 hours...
If you have any questions, let me know..

Most insurance companies should cover it. As long as it's something that's actually attached to the vehicle. I know my insurance company will cover my D3 with no additional coverage needed. Might want to double check though some insurance companies have additional coverage for audio equipment.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this... but I have the 6 disc in dash changer... does this HU render that useless? Was thinking of getting this exact unit but would hate to not have the changer.
