Anybody know a part number for a 180* SBC thermo?

I have a Meziere EWP with a 160 degree thermo but after researching a little I have learned what I thought be the case previously, and that is that a 160* thermo often causes a LS1 to run too cool, especially with how a Meziere pumps coolant around! Even in the mild winter here I am often running 167 on the highway and the aluminum block LS1 needs temps 180-190 and oil temps about 10 degrees hotter than that to lubricate properly. I'll probably swap back to the 160* in the summer though. So if anybody has a part number let me know and thank-you!

any chevy SBC stat will work.
i run a 195* stat.
you must drill holes in the stat per meziere`s instructions
because of this, the coolant is constantly flowing and
on cold days look for temps to be low.

i keep both fans off below 75MPH and raise the fan on temp and
still see 170* while driving around at <40* outside.

i hate my meziere because i like ECT temps to be 195*-210*

Well that sucks that you still see 170* ECT when it's cold out! Mine definitely warms up slower also, and I assume this is mostly because of the holes but I figured it would continue to warm up (within reason) until the thermo opened. My thermo appears to shut at 163* b/c if I turn on the fans when its cold out it will drop fairly rapidly to 163 and then stop so I figure the 160 thermo is closing there.

I think Meziere says "for healthy pump operation" (or something like that) to drill the holes. I wonder if the pump would just not last as long if there were no holes? Or, if drilling only one hole or two smaller holes would be ok?

Anyone have part numbers?

Thanks for the part numbers, I appreciate it. If you read my post you can see I wasn't JUST asking for a PN but wanted some info/thoughts on the pump in an LSx application and how it acts in cooler weather. Thanks for being a smartass though.

Anybody else running a Meziere in the winter? What type of thermo and what operating temps do you see at different ambient air temps? Did you drill holes in the thermo and if so how big?

sorry bout that...hadn't had coffee yet. and i get annoyed when people ask "who has the cheapest price?" type questions....they're too fing lazy to look at the same damn sites i have to look at

i just put the MEZ setup on my cammed engine.

car does take longer to warm up to full temp, but it seems to run at a good temperature. planning on looking at the actual temps soon (doing a dyno tune in 2wks).

i used the hole size recommended by Mez, and used a 160 stat. i have the 195 that the pump came with if need be, although i'd probably go with a 180 instead.

but then again i probably won't see temps below 50*....if i do...it will only be in the 30s.

It's all good man, I did search but I guess I wasn't using the right keywords...finding lots of stuff now though.

I just picked up a 180* Duralast thermostat locally at Autozone, part number is 15358. It looks the same as the other one I have but I haven't compared them side by side or fit the new one in the neck yet. If this doesn't work I'll post up saying the PN I posted was no good.

I called Meziere, mentioned that the engine takes a long time to get warmed up and asked about the holes. The tech told me I could just drill one small hole in the stat instead of two holes. I'll probably go with either a 1/8 or 3/16 hole. I will try that and see how much of a difference that makes as far as the engine warming up and will see what operating temp I am at with the new 180 thermostat.

Well I got the thermo swapped out but only drilled one 3/32 inch hole in it. The weather is warmer here today (mid 50s) but the engine warmed up to about 175 in about 5 min of driving (it took 15-20 before and never got above 170 unless at idle) and settled around 185-189 on the highway so that is about perfect

If you have a Meziere and are driving it in the winter I would recommend a 180 or higher stat and only drill a smaller hole in it, like less than 1/8 inch and place the thermo so the hole is at the top of the neck.
