I'm going to have my 6 point Wolfe bolt - in roll bar welded in. Can I leave the plates that go under the car off once it is welded? I figure welding around the 6 square plates should be good enough. Any thoughts?

Just make sure the plates meet the min. size requirement for NHRA and you will be fine. Like you said, there is no reason for the plates under the car if you are welding it in.

I had that cage before the 10 point. I started drilling the holes in the front & thought, WTF, what's the difference in drilling or welding, so I only got a few holes drilled, and then went & had it welded up. It made a big difference in the flex. You only need the top plates that come with the kit. Those welded in will be fine.

It will also save a little weight not having those extra plates and bolts...hah ;)
