It will run but obviously not to it's full potential. Me personally, I wouldn't drive it a lot until the tune. With just a cam only you should be ok sending your PCM off for a mail order tune. You should just send it off before/during the swap that way by the time your finished it will be done and ready to put back in.

I assume you meant CC503. That's the cam I have. I have a mail order tune from MadZ28. It runs perfectly. If you have to wait a while until you get a tune, it will run, just don't beat on it and you should be fine.

comp has multiple grinds: cc502, cc305, cc503, cc306, etc

I'd recommend a real dyno tune, car will be driveable with that cam without a tune but to get the most out you'll want one

Oh, I knew of the CC306, and CC305, didn't know there was a CC502.

CC503
crane duals, CC 1.6 promags, guideplates, pushrods, ARP studs
SLP SS CAI
52mm TB
Pacesetter 1 3/4" LT headers and y-pipe, SLP 2OTL exhaust
stock heads & intake.
T56, 10-bolt

No dyno numbers yet, but I raced my buddy with a LS1 that dyno'd 340/350 from a roll at 55mph and he gets me by about 2 cars at 140 mph. Don't know if that tells you much though. This set up is "supposed" to put down around 330 rwhp.

CC502 will drive fine without a tune. I drove around with my CC306 untuned for 2 weeks no problems for the car it just ran kinda... rough. I wouldn't worry about babying the car either, you won't hurt it

Back to OP.. IMO without a tune the A4 it will idle like crap.. '94 stock idle setting is 550 RPM in drive , 650 in p/n .. with 305 or hot cam your up in the range of 218-224/ 228-230 , .500-.525 with stock rockers. However the 112 LSA is going to give you a rotten idle in drive at 550 RPM. Unless you want to throw it in 'N' whenever you stop, I would recommend one or all of --- add timing to the closed TPS table, tweak the TBS stop and add a couple hundred RPM's to the idle speeds keep it smooth at stop lites. Also you may want to move up the stall installation time table, that would help with idle and take advantage of the CAM.

does i don't think his idle quality will be too bad, especially if he has a 114 lsa not the 112

the idle quality between a 112 and 114 is pretty minimal

put a cc305 (114lsa) next to a hotcam (112lsa) and they'll sound like the same cam imo

big duration will also have an effect on lope
