Default LS1 to LSX do I need conversion parts?

Okay so I am thinking of doing the opposite of everyone and get a LSX block and not a LS7 don't really care about weight just reliability and security if something goes wrong. But I was wondering do I need a conversion kit like all the other blocks (LS2/3/7) or am i just fine with getting the block and doing an install?

You will need a LS2 front cover and timing chain and LS2 valley cover. The block should come with the cam retainer, lifter holders.

I emailed LME and they quoted me an LSX, and included in the quote was an LSX Block conversion kit. Which comes with double roller timing set w/ torington bearing and nitrided gears, timing cover w/ cam sensor, valley cover, and cam/knock sensor extension harness. So if anything give them a call or email them, im sure they can point you in the right direction.

thanks for the help I thought it would be able to go directly into a LS1 no problem. I guess I should rethink my options cause I thought it would be less trouble than the others.

You will need to conversion kit for any LS2/3/7/9 and LSX block in an LS1 car. I would also recommend using a lifter with a tie-bar rather than using the supplied LSX lifter trays. We have seen issues where the lifters are not held square in the lifter bores. Let me know if you have any other questions and we can get them answered for you!
