Do they fit under the factory valve covers with out hitting?

Yes. I've been running them for a few years. I believe the '98 model engines with the perimeter bolt valve covers are the ones that rub.

It depends. We installed these on a 2003 Z06 and the heads and valve covers required clearancing. Not saying this will be the case for you, but don't be surprised if you have to clearance.

mine cleared the valve covers no problem.

but i had to remove 1/16" of material from the inside edge of the valve cover gasket surface on the head to clear the top edge of the rocker.

it was nothing 5 mins with a hand file didn't take care of.
