Default need advice

I am in the middle of a bad situation. I had planned on a head/cam LS1 with TSP 5.3 stage 2.5 heads and a custom grind 230/232 .613/.595 111+1LSA. Long story short, I have everything for the heads/cam but have an LS1 with bad cam bearings and I am sure main, rod bearings are right behind.

I then pick up an LQ4 with 17,000 miles on it. Pull the 317 heads and find a piece of piston ring broke and got loose in 2 of the cylinders, pitted the tops of 2 pistons and the bottom of the head, Along with a slight 1/2 long score in a cylinder wall.

I am thinking of boring, making a 370ci out of the 6.0 using my custom cam. My question is about the head choice and what pistons I need now. I would like to use Weisco pistons that can be used now and in a 408 with forged stroker crank, rods later. Which pistons do I need to use with the heads/cam?

I have been told to get L92's.
Would the 5.3 heads be too restrictive and not be using the full potential?

What are my best options right now?

the 5.3s should work fine on the 370 and should make great power across the board with that cam and block

Stick with your current combo. Although your piston choice for a 370 to a 408 will be different, because either engines stroke and compresion height for pin. I would use a MAHLE powerpak setup and do your h/c combo with the 5.3s, just make sure it's 11.0 compression.
