Default Hooker 2253-1 and 2468-1

What the hell is the difference in the hooker long tubes 2253-1 and 2468-1? Iv read some sites that say both are tuned length and same guage metal, so where is the extra money coming from?

The 2253-1 is a 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8 header, while the 2468-1 is a standard 1-3/4 header.

Are you for certain on that? I typed the part number in holleys/hookers website and nothing but the y pipe comes up for 2253. 2468 comes up though. Either way its not very good product description on anyones part.

Stepped headers will always be a bit more. Is there a ceramic coating on one vs. a painted one?

Disregarding coatings. 2290 is a 1 7/8 style super comp header. 2253 on vendors websites say its a 1 3/4 header and so does the 2468. The 2468 is listed as a regular comp header on holleys/hookers website. 2253 isnt even listed on holleys/website. It must be a discontinued unit. My guess is the 1 7/8 2290s have become the super comps and the 2468 are just a regular comp header. No need for the 2253s anymore, but I dont know.

From what I have gathered the 2253 has been discontinued. Maybe Im wrong, but why would you buy 2253s at a few hundred bucks more when the 2468 is basically the same exact header. Just look into it before you purchase!
