94 tranny in 96 car

what problems the 94 to 96 have diffrent lockup strategy...the best thing to do would be a valve body swap and you need to get a 95 up converetr which has the carbon fiber lockup clutch for the PWM lockup

Actually you can simply swap the PWM solenoid and the 3-2 solenoid along with the wiring harness trans internal from the 96 to the 94 unit,
The PWM will act as a dunny to fool the PCM but the lockup will still work in a simple on of maner just as if you had eliminated the PWM in the 96
The 3-2 strategy and solenoid is a little different but from actually doing this myself and driving I have found no notable difference in the driving shift or feel.
But you must have the the 96 PWM and 3-2 solenoid there for the PCM to act properly.
Ideally its best to have the correct trans for the car but since its already in there this would be the route I would go and it should work just fine
