Default Need a plug for my FAST fuel rails, where to get it?

I am trying to find a black plug for the passenger side front of my FAST fuel rails. I got a kit that had a plug for it but to tighten it you have to use a flathead screwdriver and it scores it up pretty good.

Any idea who sells a male or female hex head plug that is black with the o-ring seal?

I haven't been able to find a black -8 AN ORB internal hex head plug. The closest I've been able to find is the Earls AT981408 which has an external hex.

That is fine, I would rather the internal but the external hex is a hell of a lot better than what I have now lol

Know of a good place to order it from?

What a PITA, $10 to ship a TINY $3 part. I wish they would send USPS.

We have a automotive fastner place behind our shop man, so I am sure you have one in Charlotte. Take that thing down to one and match it up to what you want.

For some reason, I can only find non-black, hex head port plugs that are -8 ORB like you need. Aeromotive has the -8 ORB slim line (like you currently have), and a -10 ORB hex head port plug in black, and they also have a black -8 ORB hex head port plug, but it has a 1/8" NPT port drilled through the middle (so you'd have to seal that with a plug).

I guess you could always buy a blue one, strip the anodizing off with oven cleaner and have someone anodize it black for you, but that's a lot of work (granted, it would be something I'd do).

Yea, I can not find anything from anyone in black of what I really want. I have a local place I was going to check out (BSR) because I know they have a lot of fittings. At least I can get a hex head without paying so much to ship it.

Yep, TOTAL PITA. Plumbing AN costs a fortune and not a single manufacturer makes everything you need.

I ordered 2 of these

I had PM a sponsor about getting a kit for hook up a set of rails to the factory line and was told that it was a waste of money to just swap that. Actually they used the term 'appearance only'. So I'm now looking elsewhere to get what I need.
Thanks for those links, it will help in my quest.

Alchemist,

Sorry, I dropped the ball concerning a response to your fuel system thread. PM me and I'll help you out. I do agree that fuel rails and AN line is mostly an apprearance upgrade if only plumbed from the factory line at the firewall forward.

I agree with you, but I was just surprised with the lack of interest I got from a sponsor, actually two of them. Fact is, it's an appearance mod now, but down the road if I decide to go larger, or more accurately, need to go larger, than I already have them.

I talked with Speed INC, and they will get me hooked up.

Appearance mod? Sure, but aftermarket rails give you WAY more options for plumbing in the future should you decide to run an aftermarket FPR up front like I do. It got rid of my horrendous pressure drops at WOT with the stock dead head setup.

I agree, after market rails do offer more options for future upgrades and it fixed a problem for you; however, for most H/C guys they don't offer much in the way of performance.
