ok we have a 98 camaro, 370 cubic inches, l92 heads, 6.0L block. we would like 5.50's or so in the 1/8th and we will prolly run a 3.50 gear with a th400. anyone think it would be safe to run a hydraulic roller? we have solid roller in it now, but don't really want to spend what its gonna cost on a set of adjustable shaft rockers right now. this car will be mainly raced 1/8th mile only and just a few 1/4mi races...

I would stay with what you have. I run a solid roller in my car and I freakin love it. I check my valves every 400-500miles or 50 track passes. I have a nitrous setup. I dont know about a turbo setup. I am sure some other guys will chim in..

fwiw I ran 6.0 in the 1/8 N/A with my hydraulic set up.
Nice shot of nitrous I could see you getting in the 5.5 range with the 370 cubes if you get her to leave right.

oh totally forgot the power adder... gt47-88. don't really know how much boost yet... not really sure what the L92s will handle. in the next year or two we plan on an LSX block and a good set of heads. we were looking at the heads all pro has to offer, they are pricey but seem worth the money. as of right now the motor isn't done yet, just the long block is complete, and we havn't bought rockers yet. we were looking at the shaft rockers yella terra has, but they don't have them in an adjustable yet. i talked to them on the phone and they said it would prolly be over a year before they start to make them...

If you are running that turbo, you would be better off IMHO running a solid roller.

its definitely do-able.. i have run a 5.6 1/8th hydraulic cam and stock rockers, the car you are buildign will probably weigh 400# less
i expect there are some race cars that have run well under 5.5 in the 1/8 with the same

we went 5.8 on a hyd roller with slow 1.43 60',

we are sticking with the hyd roller and should go under 5.0 when we get back out there

I've gone 5.30s...but had some serious valvetrain instabilities...

keeping the valvetrain in check it tough with hyd lifters due to the spring pressure requirements

We went 5.59@122 on a 1.27 60ft in the 1/8th. Hydraulic roller 408 3250 LBS.
