Default ??5.3L's and 5.7L's Differences?

Ok guys need some info about the differences between the two heads. I know that the 5.3L heads will increase my compression but is there a disadvantage to bunmping the compression. I'm looking for the most torque and horsepowere down low in the RPM's so which will be better for me 5.3L's or 5.7L's. Also if I want to go kinda big on the cam then which head will be better? I would appreciate any info that you guys have for me.TIA

"I'm looking for the most torque and horsepowere down low in the RPM's "

AND

"Also if I want to go kinda big on the cam then which head will be better?"

From the dyno graphs I have seen these are 2 contrading things you want. The most torque and horsepower down low would "most likely" be had from SMALLER cam than a big cam. If you want the most bang for your buck and maybe a decent sized cam I would go with the 5.3's. The 5.3's utilize the smaller CC and therefore gain compression for you and compression usually means more power.

For the second statement I would go with ported 5.7's. larger cams benefit more from more flow and that would help beat out the 5.3's compression advantage.
