Default $1200 Budget on stock LT1. What to buy?

I've got a buddy whose got a project lt1, he wants to throw together a mild set up, but all he has to spend is about 1200 bucks. What do you guys recommend spending money on?

You need to provide more info. Year, engine/current engine mods if any, etc.

Define a "mild setup." What exactly is he looking for?

Starting from bone stock, I would start with a cold air system, a set of long tubes, and a free flowing catback exhaust. That should be around that budget. You can also add an underdrive pulley.

I would also start with the basics. LTs, Catback and CAI, Any extra cash put into PHB and trailing arms, If you dont mind used parts and do the work yourselves, all that plus a couple other things could be done to it.

suspension and cat back and maybe CAI (if he has cash left). suspension makes all of the difference in the world at the track, and makes the car alot more fun. catback makes it sound better and more fun to drive.

LCA's, PHB, shocks, catback, CAI, LCARBS,(in that order for me anyways)

Yea, I think im going to persuade him to do a complete exhaust set-up and maybe some gears. Its just gonna be a street driven car, hardly doubt it'll ever see the track.

Damn! Does that torque arm really make that much difference? I've been thinking about gettting one, but haven't because of the noise everyone says they make. Is yours noisy??
