Default A.I.R. pump question

A while back i installed Pacesetter longtube race headers without emissions. Im replacing the waterpump right now and i took the smog pump off to get the waterpump off. Can i just leave the smog pump off? It wont make it run like **** or anything will it?

Its on a 96 LT1

Thats kinda confusing, when the headers were installed did you hook them up to the AIR system somehow? would seem impossible if they are "race headers" so if its not hooked up removing the pump shouldn't do anything, I believe on ur 96 with OBDII you will have a code set by unplugging the unit but it shouldn't run different at all. Make sure the air tube that connects to the intake tubing is capped off somehow is all I can say otherwise....

Thats what i thought i just wanted another opinion on this. I just didnt know if unplugging the system would cause any problems. I think it will be fine. Thanks for your input.

Do you need to pass an emissions inspection/test in NE?
