Default guys with kooks headers got a question for you

im going to put my 1 7/8 kooks on and i was just wondering if i need to notch the kmember before i can get them in. car is an 02 m6

I had to notch on the passenger side a little, it was tapping it when the car was running.

mine are stepped to 2" so there alil bigger but i had to notch and raise the engine about 5 inches just to get mine in. it was a small notch though, and not part of the structural integrity.

I installed a set with a friend on his 98 Z28 with a 402, and we did not notch anything. We did have a slight issue with a tab on the block. That could have been removed to make it easier, but we managed to force in into place past the tab.

I dont think i had any issues other than the steering shaft rubbing slightly aganist the tube. I had a shop put them in since i got a good deal.

i have soild mounts, nothing touches anywhere, poly xmsn mount

I'm still on my stock mounts and everything lined up perfectly with no fabrication at all

I have the stepped to 2" version and I ground on the k member in the places I knew they would contact. But after getting them installed they are actually not even that close to touching. I think I could of been fine without grinding anything. Oh but I did have to pull the driver side motor mount to get that big SOB in...
