Finaly got my car running. I put a 2001 ls1/m6 in my 98 v6/auto. It took two months to do it my self working only on saturdays. Huge thanks to Jeff aka: Inspector12. I think he knows just about everything there is about these cars. He also takes his time to help find hard to find parts for me. Motor beens sitting for 4 months and it started like its been run everyday. I still have 4 months on my warranty for anything to go wrong(hope nothing does). Also thanks to this site and all the curious people asking some of the simplest questions.
I still havent been able to get down on it do to needing and alignment and exhaust. Hopefully i can cruise around this weekend. Sorry so long but i just feel so good to get it running after all that work.

Congrats! The best thing is that your VIN# and insurance still think its a V6 :D

I save about $2000 a year for having v6 insurance. When i turn 25 i am going to tell them its a v8 so they cant get out of paying me if i have to pull a claim.

Keep it as a V6. Insurance companies will not reimburse you for modifications anyways. Not unless you purchase additional coverage for modifications.

Grats on the swap man, it must feel good knowing you
did it yourself. Best way to learn something in my opinion.

Thanks guys. Yeah it was great to hear it run. The best part was seeing everyone's face when it started. They all said it would never run and i should have spent the $1200 to have it done at a shop. They are just a bunch of scared gt owners. :jest:
JRP: How did you do that; $868 a year. Im 20, with a plus two record. Are you the primary driver?
