Default Friend thinking about changing T2 cam.

He has full boltons with FAST 90/90, AFR 205's milled .010 with and the torquer 2 cam and its just not a good cam for these heads! I have always seen Patric G make some good power with AFR heads. Vengeance Racing tuned the car in Hawaii and they said that combo wasn't good with the T2 cam. Anyidea's on a cam to make great power and still be good to drive around? Its a auto with yank ss3600 stall and stock rear he also has n20

Well what are his current numbers? Maybe there's an underlying reason for low power.

i dont understand. That cam with those heads should make some nice power. And the split duration cam + nitrous should really wake up that car?

I think it did around 4**whp. Vengeance Racing dyno tuned it and said it was a bitch to tune and that cam was not good for those heads and he is still having problems with his tune. The A/F is good but the provability sucks! The track shut down in Hawaii a few years back so dosnt have any track time. B4 with just yank 3600stall, t2 cam, and boltons it ran 11.9 in a full weight vert with 220lbs driver and 11.0 on spray with 400whp and ran great! Added AFR heads, FAST 90/90, Svo 42 lbs injectors, FAST rails and driveability sucks!

He is in the navy and wont be back until june. He is also wanting to upgrade all his exhaust. He has pacesetter LT, TSP ory, Magnaflow catback. Wants some stainless 1-7/8s headers and hooker catback to tone down the sound.

The AFR 205 heads have outstanding exhaust flow making a large exhaust split unnecessary for optimum power. The T2 is well within the range of duration and overlap for making solid power with the AFR 205s. For what it's worth, 440rwhp through and automatic would be like 460+ rwhp with a 6 speed. If drivability sucks, look at all the other things that have been changed. Likely culprits are larger 90mm throttle body, larger than stock injectors, and no MAF. In this case, the drivability improvement rests with your tuner.

I'm with Patrick G, I think it's a tuning issue more than the parts...
