Default LS6 Z06 long block value?

I found a slightly used 04 z06 long block for $800. The engine was purchased over the counter and sent to Red line performance and massaged to 535 hp. Then run in a class 1 offroad race and subsequently disassembled and there it sits (tagged and bagged).

Hell, even if that price was for only the complete LS6 cylinder heads and a good LS6 block it's a great price.

What else would you need to know? There are no coil packs, no intake ( they ran a carb on it and switched it over to another engine) no efi! It was purchased as a long block! The owner doesnt know cam specs or anything that was done to it.

I would just be worried that its messed up at that price. One of those "too good to be true" kinda things.

That too cheap for a working engine, especially an LS6, just the heads on those are worth around $500

He knows the block and heads are worth more than the $800 he's asking! He was asking $1000 and noone called him. Its all apart an no visible signs of any cracks. all parts are itemized and bagged. He's desperate and needs the money to make his house payment.
