Will an A-body rear work in an F-body WITH fabrication? If so, how much to make this feasible?

The key words here are "with fabrication" I would think it is poss. but not worth the effort. You would have to make it the right length, fabricate LCA mounts, fab a torque arm mount, make sure it's all set to the right angles before welding, deal with any clearance issues, the list goes on and on..... I think it could be done but by the time you were done you would have more money and time in it than it's worth, and still wouldn't have a rear thats near as strong as one you can buy that has been tested and proven. There is alot of R&D that goes into Fabricating, and that is not cheap or easy..... I would suggest you buy one from a Sponser.... Hope that helps..

Spend the money on a bolt in rearend and save yourself the headaches. Many sponsors on here can help you out with one....I would suggest a Fab 9" if you want to do it right the first time. Eric @ Midwest Chassis is great guy to deal with and will take time out of his busy day to discuss your needs.

I don't have $2500 to blow on a rear.
Its the torque arm mount that makes F-body diffs so challenging to make or build hybrids from others diffs out of. Its doable yes but not cost effective no

Try $3700.00 for a good complete rear T/A and mount......

You would probably spend that trying to fab it up...good luck either way.

yeah.. i know. 10 bolt replacements are expensive...
why can't we just have an 8.8" like those fox body guys?

Cost effectiveness is not doing what I did......three sets of gears in my stock 10 bolt......a Moser 12 bolt....then changing to an MC Fab 9".
Go with the best when your able to buy one and be done with it!!
8.8? sounds good to me...
