Default where is the HVAC blower motor and how do i get it out

the blower doesnt come on at all, but the heat/cold works and the mode selector works (i can feel heat resonating out of the various vents while driving when i select different modes.

it worked perfect one day and then one day it wouldnt come on. all the fuses are fine as well.

im gonna replace the switch panel in the dash first (i heard that one of the switches could cause this) and the blower motor. i just need to find out how to remove the blower motor so i can replace it.

Why don't you do some troubleshooting first?
The motor is located above the plastic piece above the passenger foot area. Four screws and the motor comes right out.
Put 12 volts to it, if it runs it's good. If not, don't replace all the switches, etc.

took the motor out. there were a few leaves in the fan. hooked it up to a battery jumper pack and the motor does turn on its own...so the motor isnt fried. bearings are all good and it spins smoothly and silently.

gonna try and find some new switches and hopefully that will resolve this problem

got new switches and a blower motor today from the wreckers. got my heat working again!!! i can drive my car for the rest of winter now!!!

found out it wasnt the switches though. the motor just went bad. i thought this was weird since i hooked it up to 12volts and it did work. maybe i'll take the broken motor apart and try and find whats wrong. maybe i can fix it and sell it on ebay

Most of the time on a dc motor the brushes wear out.If it howls it's the bushings,if it smells bad it's burnt wiring.

i guess 150K miles of use wears out the little motor

its a cali car, so im guessing the 1 original owner used the max AC a lot

im just happy i can enjoy this fine piece of general motors engineering again
