Angry Engine stalls and dies---OVERHEAT?

My engine stalls out and dies, sputters too when it warms up. The only code i have is p1258(engine coolant over temp). My guage no longer works. But i have coolant in the radiator, new therm, and my fan works. Ay ideas? Replace sensor?

It could be a flaky sensor but have you checked to see if the pump is working?Or is the radiator all junked up and air flow is down?

guage is up, the new therm i bought from autozone..was still not opening, and its a 180stat. so i removed it to see if it would fix it. and it did, now she stays at around 185 constant with fan. new code to fix now, p0154(o2 sensor right bank front insufficient activity) its a never ending story with me.
