Good springs.

Like 96 mentioned, check the cam card. Comp recommends a specific spring with each of their grinds.

Additionally, the Crane 10308 with the 99893 springs will work fine as well.

Comp's rpm ranges are WAY WAY lower than reality so blindly following their recommendation may not be the best bet. The added RPM needed here in reality means more spring may be needed.

They probably recommend springs for 1.5 rockers too, not 1.6s which again would cause the valvetrain to be harder to control just like the extra rpm.

Can't remember the part# but PBM offers a drop in spring for LT1 heads that are around $100 I have run them on two different builds just don't install the damper with the springs good for like .600 lift.

Pulling dampers out of springs is a bit of a gamble. They don't put dampers in them because they wanted to add parts to the kit.

Lloyed elliot can set you up with a set of crane spring with a set of lighter retainers and lock that will work with SA rocker for 175 shipped.

Its still a double spring setup even without the damper, I think the reason is the inner spring fits the locator inside ID of the damper is too small. Most big spring set don't even run one, neither to conical springs. I can see the risk maybe if they were some monster seat pressure but they aren't so it is really not that big of deal in my opinion. Like I stated earlier two of my LT's lived that way with spray and all

The CC503's lifts and ramp rates aren't too aggressive any of the following will work:
Comp 918's
PAC 1218's
Patriot Extremes
Crane 10308 duals

Quick Reply: valve springs
