The AFR 180's or 195's.

If you are shopping for heads I would highly recommend these guys. I've had 3 sets of heads on my car (mildly ported heads, LE2 heads, and now my current heads) and they outperformed any previous head I've had by far in every aspect. Not to mention the machine work, attention to detail, and customer service is amazing.

If you got the money then "AI" if you are on more of a budget Lloyds work will do your heads wonders. He's been around for plenty of years and his work speaks for itself.

Another for http://www.advancedinduction.com/

For your money, you'll do very well with properly worked stock heads.

That cam is VERY mild. I honestly don't know why you'd even bother getting heads if you insist on running a cam that mild. The COMP AFR 195's are a serious piece. Who recommended them to you "with your setup"? I would seek advice elsewhere. The hotcam is a nice street cam that runs excellent with stock heads, and is a total waste with a head that can flow 295+cfm.

What power goals do you have?
Who is going to be doing the work?

The hotcam can make around 325-340rwhp at the most! The AFR Comp 195 can support well over 500, so you'd be wasting a lot of money.

I'm not trying to bash the hotcam at all really, I do like it, it has it's place for sure. It's a very entry level cam for bolt-on cars, nothing more.

+1

Some inexpensive ported stockers would be plenty. You can even save a ton by buying one of the used sets that pop up on the boards every once in a while.

Despite the fact that I have a "off the shelf" cam in my car, if you really want to make more power, and efficiently, you need to choose your cam based on heads. Whatever heads you go with, get a cam that the machinist or manufacturer recommends. There are plenty of off the shelf cam that work well, but to do it right you need to match the cam to the heads. All you're going to get here are opinions.

Can't really suggest anything without a budget or what you plan on doing with the car, so I'll just say hand ported AFR 227s with shaftmounts and a big solid roller with a super vic on top, controlled by a FAST system.

That's what I'm trying to tell you... I made the same kind of post a few months ago, and all I got was people's opinions. All the AI, LE and AFR nutswingers came out (no offense to anybody here) and didn't really give me any info, just opinions. You NEED to talk to manufacturers and machinists, and make your decisions based on their INFO, not OPINIONS from a internet forum.

The TRULY experienced car guys here will tell you the same thing as I am.
