Are the buttons on out doors supposed to light up?
I have a '99 T/A, and I noticed at night that the buttons on my doors, (windows, locks, ect.) don't light up whereas they do in my '98 Grand Am. Are they supposed to?

no, but...
There is a little red lens in the molding around the door handle, which has a small bulb/light behind it that illuminates the switch panel. If it does not light up, you should take the molding off (held on by one phillips screw) and see if the light bulb is good and/or the bulb is installed in the socket.

Keep in mind that stock lights are not nearly this bright. But -> the bulbs do go out, so if you don't have any light on the switches, the socket is either out of place or your bulb is just burned out.

if you look closely at the buttons on the door, the functions are painted on with paint. they are not back lit. as others have said, a small light above the switches lights up so you can see them.
