Default Killed a LT1 Z28 in my new Foxbody......

So I picked up an 89 LX AOD on friday night as my new daily driver toy. Not really modded up or anything just flowmaster dumps, electric fans and ford racing plug wires. More to come soon.

Anyway so I was cruising it around today with my girlfriend looking for someone to play with when sure enough I ended up at a light with a seemingly stock LT1 Z28. I told my chick it was on, looked over at the guy and he had his girl in the car too. He gave me the ole stink eye so I knew we were both on the same track.

I stalled her up to about 1200rpms and when the light turned green I layed her down. I had a bit of wheelspin but so did he, I hooked and shot out about a car or so. We ran from 0 to about 70 and had to shut it down for another light up ahead. I was totally suprised that I held him off, I was waiting for him to suck my doors off for sure since I used to have an LT1 Z28 and it felt faster than my fox.

So he pulls up to the next light beside me and of course neither him nor his girl will look over. I just wanted to give him a thumbs up and to laugh about the race. Oh well there will be more stories to come out of the old foxbody.

Good kill. Those LT1s are hit and miss sometimes. I'm guessing either a not-so-great 6spd driver, or a 2.73-geared A4 that launched off idle. Either way, chalf another one up for Jimmy

Congrats on the new stang and on the kill!

I can't wait until the driving season starts up for real around here. My buddy and I raced my LT1 and his bolt-on/mild cam notch last year and it was close. Now we've both got a few more toys on each car so it should be alot of fun testing them out

I agree lol it will eventually get a C4....

Anyway I got another kill tonight so here it goes!

My buddy has an 86 Foxbody with Msd distributer, Msd coil, ram air intake, advanced timing and he figured it could take out my 89 that just has flowmaster dumps, FRPP Wires, Electric fan. Not the case.

We went out to a country road and lined up from a dig, we both spun out of the hole pretty bad. We both hooked about the same time and I started to pull, got about a car out on him and we shut it down probably just a little more than 1/8th due to traffic.

Then we took them out on the highway NRRA style! 40 roll bitch!

He did the three honk and we were off, by third gear I had a car. When mine shifted to third he was still in second and stopped my pull, but when his shifted to third I started to slowly pull again. Sadly we had to shut down though because we were coming up on traffic. He wanted one more shot at me from a roll so we did a 50 roll.

Well that was a flop because his downshifted to second and mine stayed in third so I just let off instead of staying in it for no reason. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to buslength him but im just happy I came out ahead really, I would have never heard the end of it had he beat me LOL.
