I had the silver McEwen headlight and HVAC control overlays on my car (to match my gauges) and IMO they looked out of place. They were just too obviously not factory and just didnt look good, so I pulled them off. Had they matched anything else in the car they may have looked fine (and might look good on a silver car) but they just clashed with the black interior.

I need to get my hands on some, with all the silver I have:

My only problem is I now have a Camaro HVAC panel, idk if I can get a T/A headlight overlay, and a Camaro HVAC one. Although I think I would only need the headlight overlay, the hvac might be too much.

Jonas is it a PITA to put on the gauge overlay? I think it would look good in your car though.

Brian you car could benefit from the silver overlays. And no they are not hard to put on at all. It is simple, remove bezel trim around radio, peel of backing on silver overlays, align onto stock overlays done. Repeat for the headlight ****

EDIT: these gauges overlays will go with your car Brian, even though you have the Camaro HVAC.. and you can use the headlight overlay in the trans am toohttp://store.specializedstainless.co.../Detail?no=267

I absolutely love the instrument cluster overlay but I've been debating removing the HVAC and headlight switch overlays myself. Keep in mind these are all white though. As stated, they do stand out quite a bit, as silver might also. Not to hijack but, I have also considered putting the center console and radio trim plate back to stock (I have duplicates). Here's some pictures that might help with your decision.

Without Overlays

With Overlays
(also with window swithplate painted matte black and Boyds chrome rings!)

I think red and silver go together really well and it would look good. Especially if you have brushed accents like the black Camaro posted above!
