Default I need to buy a spare key for my Monte

I need to purchase another spare. Is it true that the keys have a security chip in them?

Yeah, they have a "chip". I went to the dealer and they cut me a new key and programmed it for $40.

Just get a key copied from the parts dept, you can program it yourself. If you have a working key already, just put your old key in and turn it to the "ON" position. Then remove the key and immediately insert your new key and start the car. Thats it!
