Default EWP Wiring help needed...

Hey guys i got the painless EWP wiring kit and had a few question on adding on to the kit.

1) i'd like to wire in a dummy light so when the pump is not gettin power or something is wrong the light turns on.
2) i plan on wiring it into the ignition for a constant but would also like to be able to wiring it in on a switch so i can turn it on and off with the car off in the pits.

So could anyone add onto this diagram i have what wires and where they need to go to wire in the dummy light and the seperate switch?

Thanks a bunch!

Would this work to wire in the seperate switch?

The red is the wire i would tap into the existing wire in the painless kit with a seperate wire and the sweet little drawing is a toggle switch lol...

Still not sure on the dummy light...

the switch will work in that position, and as for the dummy light I would tap off of the power wire after the relay and the only real foolproof way would be to then ground your dummy light is to the the ground wire on your pump. Otherwise if your ground on your pump fails your light would stay on even though your pump wouldn't be running if you provided the light it's own chassis ground somewhere around the dash

exactly you have to have it past the relay. mainly b/c if the relay stops working the light goes off as well

I like the idea of the dummy lights for both the ground and power to the pump. I do have a couple questions on that diagram though.

1) would i wire both the "hot when ignition on" wires the the same power source?
2) On the resister and diodes where would you say to get those? and are those the p/n's or we for them?
3) what amp fuse should i use on the wire going to the pump?

Thanks a bunch man!

1) i used different power sources, but i feel the same one would be fine.

2) i got mine at radio shack, the numbers on the diagram are there part numbers. so just bring the diagram with you when you go there.

3) i used a 30 amp.

welcome!

Go to radio shack, they have all of those part #'s in their tech drawers.

I asked painless if the circuit breaker that is in their relay kit, replaces the fuse, and they said yes.

I also asked if it was self reset style circuit breaker. They said that it does reset by itself.

In my previous thread using the same diagram above that grn 95ta is using, I had a lot of dumb questions because I suck at wiring things. Here is that link
