what size cam?
i just got a 6.0 and a upperend off a ls6 vette i have a lunati 224/224 with high 500 lift on a 112 lobe but i want something a little meaner sounding and i still gotta figure were to mill these heads down at to get the compresion back up

anything in the low to mid 23x will give nice gains with that setup.
something like the Torquer 2, F13 or 14
depends on how crazy you want to get. heck you could go all the way up to the MS3 or 4 and make some good power.
mill the heads just enough to clean them up, put a thin head gasket on and go from there.

Sound and power don't always go hand in hand. What are your hp goals? There are many cam choices out there.
You mentioned milling the heads to get the CR back up, so I am assuming that you picked up LQ4 (iron 6.0). The LQ4 has a CR of 9.41:1 stock with 72cc heads. Just bolting on some stock 243's will give you a compression ration of 10:1 or more. You can get a slight mill and/or run a cometic gasket to get you right around 11.0:1.

im not sure definently want it to perform good but also have a good tone i have a lt1 with a cc306 and it sounds and performs awesome im new to the ls1 and just trying to figure all this new stuff out lol...
