I was wondering if someone was going to ask about that

It has 303rwhp and 360rwtq 4.2L v6, 4r70w trans.

stock cam and heads

that's what I'm here to learn about

I'm trying to figure out what cam I should go with and what direction to go with the heads for the truck.

I've seen guys on the ford v6 sites use LS1/LS6 springs on heads like mine, but guys on the v6 sites seem to use really tame cams even with thier poweradders. I want something a little meaner.

am I in the right place? will the information about LS turbo cams relate to my engine?

you are not going to want to put a really aggressive cam in a turbo car because big cams have overlap (both valves open at the same time) and you will lose your boost back into the cylinder.

thats good to know, that why Im here

my kit was actually designed after the Grand National turbo setup, just on the drivers side

It just made since because ford also stole the engine design from buick too

I hang out turbobuick.com every now and then, I need to spend more time on there

how much boost are you running GN?

im running 28# with alky, and i see what you mean by using the same design with the exception of the turbo being turned so the inlet is facing forward instead of to the side. did you build the kit yourself or.....? Also what size hairdryer is that?

Thanks, Another guy on v6f150.com designed it for "production" but everything fell through and I was the lucky winner that ended up with the kit about 3 years ago.

Garrett 4088= 88mm

GN I see your a marine, are you still serving, what do you do?

I'm in Denton, Tx its about 40min north of dallas

I dont have a tach, but i would guess aroung 2500-3000

It has a little bit of a turbo lag problem. Could a cam help out with that?

I know that new torque converter with a high stall would help

nah, I haven't pitted them against each other yet.

what do the LS1's run in the 1/8th like an 8.5?

Well my truck ran a 10 second 1/8 with a 2.2 60ft.
some of that is bad reaction but turbo lag is a b!tch

If I wanna run with the camaro, I think I could use a 3500 stall converter and maybe a 25 shot to get me out of the hole? shrug

oh and I need the quarter mile, so I can chase the camoro down. That would probably be a better race
