Default where do dowel rods go in to hold lifters up for cam swap

So I have seen tons of posts and info about using dowel rods to hold the lifters up when doing cam swaps, but I have not seen where exactly the dowel rod goes in at. Where exactly do you put the dowel in so that it holds the lifters up while the cam is out?

when you pull the cam retainer plate off, there are two smaller holes to the left and right of the cam. Thats were they go.
