Default Hard to put manual in R.

Any ideas? Sometimes I have to play with the clutch for it to feel like it went all the way into R. But every time, it's hard to put in R.

I would check your clutch fluid reservoir, odds are you're low or you need to bleed the system.

Thats a common problem when your clutch wont disengage all the way, is it a stock clutch? Had that problem with my centerforce and it went away when I put my Tex in.

If it's really hard check the reverse lockout solenoid, My car someone had unplugged it and you had to push it hard to get in reverse

It is usually a reasons listed blow why your car wont go into reverse

1. Your clutch is not disengaging

A. Bad master
B. Bad slave
C. Bad fluid
D. Bad pilot bearing
E. Input shaft is hitting the back of the crank shaft
F. Your throw out bearing is stuck on the slave cylinder

2. Your transmission wont go into reverse because

A. Bad syncro
B. Broken keys
C. Broken plastic bads on shift fork

Make sure that you have your clutch fully disengaged. If it wont let you put it into reverse, put it into first grear and move forward a little then try it again. Good luck.

P. S. We also rebuild transmissions if you would like us to fix it for you. Give us at CMS a call for more info.

Try putting the car into first gear, and then reverse...see if that helps.
