Help asap! on my buddys trans am he is losing oil pressure when he is going down the highway its good when he stops it goes to 0 and the car dies what would make it do this

i thought gm had a safety net in the pcm, when i oil press goes to zip the engine shuts off.
most lt1s esp higher mileage cars will have decent oil pressure going down the road and will fall off at idle

the car goes to 0 then it dies thats what the knock module is for right i guess the PCM is shutting it off do you know what willm cause lost oil pressure oh yeah and there is no knock before it dies
