Sounds really expensive....I wonder if it's a true bolt-in and go. I also would be curious to see if other converters would work with it and how it would affect an existing tune? Looks really promising though. I might have to start saving for a 6-speed!

I am sure it is really expensive, and the ratio splits will make even more expensive. Converters should not be a problem that portion did not change from what I have seen. Interested in the actual ratios.

From what I found around $5k for the complete kit. Looks like it can use any 4L80 converter.

Gear ratios: 3.08, 2.34, 1.60, 1.30, 1.00, 0.75.

The only problem is that you cannot use a shifter, you have to use the paddle shifter. TCI said they are comming out with a trans-brake for this unit.

i did a google on their part number for the shift kit....and TCI is selling the paddle kit for the 4l60 and 4l80 4,5 and 6 speeds...go to their site. $579.00 for kit with digital display less without? I'm going to wait to see if there are any bugs to work out

That's not really bad at all considering a built 80 can come close to that.

I would really question the ratio splits in this transmission. Not to be the pessimist but the 1.30 fourth does not match the reduction you get from using O.D. to split the ratios should be 1.20.

You do NOT have to use the paddle shifter to shift it unless you want to manually shift it. You can use ANY 4-speed automatic shifter with it. The finalized ratios for it are: 2.97, 2.33, 1.57, 1.18, 1.0, .75. It will be avaiable as a trans/TCU only or as a kit with the paddle shifter. You can also use any lockup style 4L80-E torque converter with it.

Sounds promising....but will it really hold up to the extreme horsepower levels?

More like a 5 speed with the ratio step. 1.18 to 1.00. For the 5000 + price tag I would hope it is durable.

Starting to not sound so good, huh? $5000 is a stretch, but might be worth it. $7500...forget that. Any more info on getting the GM A6 to work in our car?

Stay tuned it will come and with a much better ratio spread. Although the price may give a few heart attacks.

My bad , I never asked ......
I'm not totally against spending the $7500 on a 6 speed auto ....... but it had better be a damn sweet & durable setup. I need more info on the thing. I will probably wait till someone gives it a shot first.
