Default starting wiring harness few questions

first off i only have the engine harness. its off a lq4

mabey im blind but the obd2 port isnt on this. im assuming its on the bulkhead harness and i need to buy one. also i se the diagrams where i only have to hook up 4 wires to the diagnostic port, anyone have any problem tunning with this? also do i need the bulkhead harness or anything else to complete this while im at it.?

thanks

OBD2 port is in the interior harness, you will not get it with a take off engine harness.

Go remove one from any 96+ model vehicle, they are all the same.

To wire it up you need 2 grounds, one ignition +12v that is hot during cranking, and the serial data line from the pcm. The system tunes using serial data through the single data wire.

You should be good with just the engine harness. There is only one data wire that comes from the PCM to the OBDII port. Other than that 2 grounds and battery power. Tuned my car fine with just those wires. I have the OBDII port in the glove box with extended wires so I can pull it out for hooking up a scanner. Got the codes scanned at the auto parts store one day and the guy was like, um that's not OBDII, then I opened the glove box.

I was writing this as he was replying. NOTE: It is battery power not Ignition.

I just grabbed a port of a car at the junkyard.
