Default Air tube removal on Lt's /w AIR?

I bought a set of Pacesetter LT's /w AIR last spring to go along with a cam and ported 806 heads that I picked up cheap.

I'm finding now that the damn air tubes on the headers are in the way a lot, I couldn't bolt up my trans dipstick either(its just jammed into the trany) and the air tubes + the hose just clutter up the engine bay that much more.

My question is:

Can I remove these air tubes at the base of the header (IE: grind them off with a dremel) and have a shop seal up the holes, or is that going to screw up the Armor coating too much and/or have other effects on the headers?

If someone has already done this, could you post a pic of how it turned out?

i had my egr tube blow out of my pacesetters on my old car, left a nice fat hole in my headers. had a friend carefully weld a plate over the hole, worked fine. dont know what real affects it had on the car as i sold it about a month later.

but it is possible, id just be careful with where all the metal shavings end up etc

I guess as long as its capped or plugged it should function like the non-air headers... I should have just bought headers without the air tubes.

I cut them off on a bandsaw, then drilled and tapped for a pipeplug. Too easy.

I had mine removed and welded over, don't have many miles on the fix though. Most will advise against using a plate as the weld typically breaks.
