Racer's Lounge - Douche in a cobra GT500

So I was hangin out at in and out last night with some friends around 11pm had 5 ws6's lined up in the parking lot, when a white w/black stripes cobra gt500 rolls in and shoots a rev then parks 50yrds away. So my buddy with a 01 ws6 was looking for a run that night and would love to try a gt500 hell we all would for that matter! (he's full bolt ons, stalled auto, gm hotcam and nitto's and runs 12 flat @ 114ish so far...

So me and a friend walk over to the gt500 and are shocked its a chick driving! She looks like she cant be older than 16-17 maybe 90lbs soaking wet and is dressed like a total punk dyke! complete with sideways baseball hat and has a friend in the passenger seat same age and her little bro in the back seat who's like 8 maybe. So after we get over our shock here's how the conversation goes....

ME "hey you want to run that thing tonight"

HER "you got any money"

ME (kinda laughing) "Is this thing stock? you might not want to bet any money if it is" (I knew it was and we just wanted to see one run really)

HER "This car WILL BEAT a nitrous car" (I'm LMAO at this comment cuz she obviously has zero idea wtf she's talking about )

ME "Haha umm okay so you wanna run for fun tonight or not"

HER " I cant race with my little bro in the car" (Lol again)

Walking away laughing but dam that would have been a perfect chance to see one of them run if only driver knew wtf they were talking about! So we were kinda bummed but got a good laugh out of the "this car will beat a nitrous car" comment... Lol classic...

But since your trying to turn it into a bench race then on the street a stalled drag radial car will take out manual cars that are a hell of alot faster when their on street tires when your talking 1/2 a second difference in just the first 60' And gt500's are not a hell of alot faster than a full bolt on cammed ws6...

I came here a year and a half ago give or take to learn more about the LS1. Liked the crowd, and have stuck around. Came here with a Mustang, have owned 3 different ones (blown V6, '04 Cobra, and the GT in my sig now) but have also owned two different LSx vehicles one of which is in my sig.

I agree it takes people on the local forum almost half a year to sell a clean ls-1 f-body for under $8k while I see GT's sell right away.......I live in a city with a population of about 1 million in San Jose ,CA and I know most of the f-body owners here. Havnt seen alot of kids around here in f-bodys, mustangs still and will probably always out number us 7-1. Not starting a flame war but this is what I have personally seen and experienced ever since I been into ls-1's back in 2000-2001

The mustang will always sell more and be more popular than the f-body......and thats fine with me

Nowhere on this site does it say "You have to own a LS1 to be here, and no mustangs allowed!".. I own a LT1.. This isnt LTXTech, this is LS1Tech, so by your same standard, nobody besides LS1 owners should be here, which means I shouldnt be here either. There are pleanty of cool Mustang owners out there, you just gotta get to know them and not place them into the "giant d-bag" category before you meet them. A lot of the Mustang owners by me are very cool guys.

Because we love to share stories about the F-bodies we outrun daily. Nothing like watching a bunch of mullet wearing hicks cry because a mustang outran their little boy bowtie or fire chicken cars. :cry:

Mustangs were marketed better and if you are refering to the used car market there are plenty of cheap under 4k mustangs out there. MSRP a fully loaded SLP SS was more than a fully loaded GT of the same year, which also means F-bodys hold there value better

GM made the z28 the dealer gave some the SS package and some had the slp option where you got a nice catback and some badges with bilsteins.

Either way I bought the car that I wanted and will buy another GM in the future 04 z06 but since not that much people bought that car it must be crap.

I like F-bodies and Vettes just as much as I like Mustangs. Seems some people are just too closed minded. Oh and get the 04 Z06. For a while I was driving around a 02 Z06 twin turbo. Was a hoot on the interstate. ;)
