Tire Pressure...
I've got a set of Falken Ziex ZE329 245/45Z17s and I'm trying to determine optimal air pressure in these things. Falken's website says max 50psi (cold) which obviously isn't what I'm supposed to be running them at. I'm attemptng to get ride quality as well as even tire wear/longevity out of these things. Any help?

Pressure is determined more by weight + weight distribution in the vehicle than tire size i belive. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. 35psi around in my Z28. Stock Z28 comes with 245,40-16s

Only on a racing type tire. On a radial street tire you will loose footprint running low tire pressure. The center of the tire wont have as much contact with the road as it would if you had the correct tire pressure. If you run too much pressure the center will be the only thing with good contact with the road.
Experiment to what gives you the best traction and feel at highway speeds. Low tire pressure will make the car feel unstable at high speeds. I would guess optimal would be somewhere between 32-40 psi.

I run both sets of my tires around 42psi. Any lower and I can feel them 'biting' the road and get a sloppy fell like the sidewall is rolling under the rim. FYI I run 275/40/17 in the summer and 225/60/16 in the winter. Both between 40psi and 42psi

last 20 years I have ran max psi on side of tire ,(44 psi) I get 40-45k on all set with very even wear no cupping or side wear(do ride a little harsh) now one car with 37 k and one has 43k on the other and if you can find ANY abnormal wear on any of my tires I buy you a steak dinner( or I might buy you a set of new tires)
