Default Mysterious Knocking???

I have a 98 Camaro and Im getting a Knock when i rev up to around 1500-2000 RPM. It doesnt do it at Idle. I just put in a new cam and lifters. Im thinking it could be timing.....My knock sensor was bad so I changed that and the knock got alot quieter but now when I give her the gas she kinda cliks and claks, the sound fades in and out and only does it when I rev her up around 1500-2000 (not sure if she still does it in higher RPM's) to scared to go any higher. Any suggestions?
