Default Is the 2006 Lumina ss same as the 04 GTO ?

hey,

a friend of mine has the 2006 Lumina ss which is basically like the holden (coupe style ) manual 6-speed trans. I have a couple of questions as he is so dumb to know abt his car.

Is the 2006 ls1 lumina engine exactly the same as the 2004 GTO ? because as you know and we all know.. in USA gto is pontiac and in the middle east its a complete chevrolet car. in britain its a vauxhaul and in australia is a holden.

the second question is.. its a manual trans car. 6-speed, so does this mean its a t-56 ? if so. The friend wants to change the diffrential into an LSD with different ring & pinion gear ratios. so for street use, what do you think is the best ratio with 17'' wheels with nittos 555rII.

as for the performance.. does he have to change the injectors if its still NA ? because I told him he doesnt need them but the dumbass insists because his ''skyling r32'' flew low when he changed the injectors.

Thank you and I apologize if this is the wrong forum.

AFAIK, they're the same - the tranny is definitely a T-56 or variant of some kind. Don't know 100% on the engine - they may have a different cam in there.
I'm a fan of 3.73 for regular street use

Unless he's making 600hp+, the stock rails/injectors should be fine too, IIRC.

Damn that thing looks good! No wonder GM isn't doing good in the states, their cars generally blow here!

Some of my GTO friends have looked at gears and said 3.90 is the steepest they make for them, I think that'd do great in a 6 speed car.

Its the same car as the GTO. You can get more info on the powertrain if you go to the GTO section in here or go to LS1GTO.com 3.91 gears are as steep as the go for the rear and Eaton makes a TrueTrack or you can do a Kazz diff. There are tons of mods for the GTO but they aint cheap.

Any Idea of where I can find a synchro kit for this NM1 transmision ?

I am also having a hard time finding a filter that looks like the ones used in the RAM AIR ws6 or the corvette's ... I need those.

92mm throttle body good from fast ?

Thanks.

The real question is how much trim and stuff is different...and can we buy the part numbers in the US?
