LT1 heads... will any year work on my '96?

I've always wondered the same thing.
I have '93 heads with a 94/95 intake. I've seen some places that claim '93 head ports were shaped slightly different. .... but it's all a crap shoot as to whether the ports on mine were matched or not. Never had them off to even take a look.

as far as inspection goes, i obviously cant magnaflux them (aluminum), dont want to pay to get them pressure checked, which leads me to die penetrant to look for cracks. so where could i get some die pennetrant?
i dont want to blow $150-200 for heads that are cracked
if they are just a little warped my instructor will help me mill them as long as it doesnt send my compression beyond 93 octane.

93 heads should be the 374 castings.
Like stated, they will all work on any LT1. Also, you would have to mill stock heads a LOT to get out of pump gas range with the stock block and pisons so you shouldn't worry about that either .

the AI compition port has 2.000 and 1.560" valves, so that would probably be sufficient. the 1.6" might be pushing it at that rate. i know AI has put alot of thought and testing on their LT1 heads.
