Default Mustang 360r and Challenger RT KILLS

I was on my way home from a sunday drive (60 in kansas). I was pullen up to a stop light and there was a red car i had never seen before. When i got closer i noticed it was a new challenger, it had black stripes down the side that said rt. I didnt rev nor did he but when the light turned green alls i hear is tire spin. So he jumped about a car and im on my street tires so i spin through 1st, hook in 2nd and about top of second im beside him. Shift to third and pull a car and he lets out. He gives me a wave as he drives bye.

Mustang 360R, i dnt really know anything about this car except its factory supercharged and had exhaust. I just got my Mickey ET Streets mounted so i was looking for a race, one of my friends in my car club just bought a 1996 saleen 281s wit a procharger so i was hoping to get a race with him but he didnt want to so... Theres a roush 360r that runs around town were i live and all the guys around are small town think its extremely fast (Especially the mustang guys) So im looking to try these et streets out, so my friend calls this guy and he comes up to the sonic were we all hang out, spins a donut in the street then pulls in. He is talking trash untill i fire up the Camaro (That ASA cam sounds mean with 3in exhaust ) There is a stop light about a block down from the sonic so we race off the light past sonic so every one can see. I lower the tire pressure to 15psi launched about 2800-3000rpm, car basically dead hooks, by the time we pass sonic im about 3-4 cars in front. So we pull back in the guys pretty pissed he lost to a 19yr old in a bolt on camaro so we wants a roll race. We go from a 30 roll and for some reason the et's break lose, but they hook in 2nd and i start walking away again. I pull back into sonic and the 360r jus leaves. I love beating the guys that talk crap

Well it's pretty hard (and dumb?) to start with the "nice kills!" when we have no idea what the OP drives or what's done to it.

Well good run definitely... a stock 360R isn't gonna touch a full bolt-on/cammed Z28. Unless it's 99 Z28's car

Nice kills OP.

Actually......even with the cam only, I wouldnt' doubt much of his story. 360r's are, well......on par with S197s/99-01 Cobra's. They weigh a fair amount, put down ~300-310 RWHP and have 3.27s.

Um... till you go to the track again I'm going to go off your bolt-on/cammed/stalled time of 12.4 @ 112mph. Which is stock '03-'04 Cobra/GT500 territory. And definitely WELL within bolt-on/cammed/stalled Mustang GT territory. And please don't give me the sob story of the Cobra and GT500 "needing a blower to keep up," because that gets old.

Bah, blower or not!

Ten of the Fastest Ford Mustangs Motor Trend Has Tested

2008 Ford Shelby GT500 KR. 1/4 mile: 12.4 sec @ 118.1 mph 0-60: 4.1 sec.
First Drive: 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR
You know it's different the moment you twist the key. It idles with the burble of a twin-engine Cigarette speedboat. Zing the gas, and the GT500 KR barks hard from its large, brushed stainless exhaust pipes. The roar is accompanied with a moan from the cold-air intake and a whine from the supercharger. Select first, plant your right foot, and take it through the gears. The most powerful factory Mustang ever sold bellows like a Cup car. - Matt Stone

2007 Ford Shelby GT500. 1/4 mile: 12.7 sec @ 114.2 mph 0-60: 4.4 sec.
Comparison: 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 vs. 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe vs. 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 Coupe
The GT500 beats with a V-8 heart -- although this one's supercharged, 5.4 liters pressurized by an Eaton blower to 8.5 max psi of boost. It's good for an even 500 horsepower and 480 pound-feet. The "special stuff" treatment continues from there: flying saucer-size brake rotors front and rear (including four-piston Brembo calipers up front), reinforced body panels, three-inch-diameter exhaust tips, a suspension stiffened for added responsiveness. Compared with a conventional Mustang, it's an extreme makeover. - Arthur St. Antoine

2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. 1/4 mile: 12.8 sec @ 113.2 mph 0-60: 4.7 sec.
Gran Turismo Times Three: BMW M3 vs. Ford Mustang SVT Cobra vs. Maserati Coupe
With 10 years of Cobra production in the books, the '03 version boasts the highest horsepower rating in Ford Mustang history. A modular, 4.6L double overhead cam 32-valve V-8 engine generates 165 more ponies (to 390) and 110 more lb-ft of torque (also 390) than the original '93 version. - Scott Mead

1998 Saleen S351. 1/4 mile: 12.9 sec @ 116.8 mph 0-60: 4.6 sec.
Tuners: 1998 Saleen S351
Saleen's supercharged S351 Mustang would be inexcusable if it weren't so fast. It's a fiend with so much brute torque the driver feels as if he could pull both the Titanic and the ocean floor beneath it up out of the North Atlantic. Through corners, it's as effective and subtle as a leopard clamping his jaw down on a zebra's femur. - John Pearley Huffman

2008 Dan Gurney Signature Edition Mustang. 1/4 mile: 12.9 sec @ 111.3 mph 0-60: 4.3 sec.
First Test: 2008 Gurney Signature Edition Ford Mustang
The Saleen-built Gurney Signature Edition Mustang certainly boasts an impressive spec chart. Under the hood lies the company's supercharged, 4.6-liter V-8, good for 465 horsepower and feeding a short-throw five-speed manual that drives a 3.73 Max Grip limited slip. Suspension is a stiff Racecraft design with a Gen-II Watts-Link rear end (a first for a Saleen), which lowers the car's roll center and helps keep the live axle centered under the car (improving handling balance). - Arthur St. Antoine

2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R. 1/4 mile: 12.9 sec @ 110.8 mph 0-60: 4.4 sec.
Road Test: 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R
Ford's fire-breather is motivated by a 5.4-liter/385-horsepower high-revving (6500-rpm redline) DOHC V-8 with 385 pound-feet of torque. To shoehorn this howler into the regular Cobra's 4.6-liter/316-horsepower V-8's spot, new engine mounts and a lowering crossmember afford an extra 12 millimeters of clearance. But even so, the hood, with its bulging blister, barely closes over the honking, high-flow intake manifold. - Jack Keebler

2008 Racecraft 420 S. 1/4 mile: 12.9 sec @ 110.0 mph 0-60: 4.4 sec.
First Test: 2008 Racecraft 420 S Ford Mustang
A 0-to-60 time of 4.4 sec. puts the 420 S just ahead of the Paxton-supercharged Shelby GT/, which got there a tick slower at 4.6. The Racecraft's 10.4-sec 0-to-100 time virtually ties the Shelby's 10.5. What the times don't convey is how useable the power is. You can dawdle the Racecraft around all day and never know there's a supercharger there. Get into the pedal, and you get a pleasing blower whine and big power. No stumbling, overheating, or any of the usual tuner nonsense. - Matt Stone

2008 Ford Shelby GT SC. 1/4 mile: 13.0 sec @ 110.2 mph 0-60: 4.6 sec.
Tuners: 2008 Shelby GT/SC
Underhood is a Paxton high-output centrifugal supercharger system, complete with an air-to-water intercooler and exclusive Shelby/NOVI 1200 compressor that cranks out 462 horses and 419 pound-feet of torque. That's 143 horses and 89 pound-feet more than the naturally aspirated GT-C and a difference that's immediately noticeable. - Edward Loh

2006 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang. 1/4 mile: 13.0 sec @ 109.7 mph 0-60: 4.5 sec.
Tuners: 2006 Roush Stage 3 Mustang
Around town the Stage 3 engine is docile. Crack open the throttle, and the supercharger comes alive, the exhaust roars, and the rear tires spin as if slathered in Crisco. Smoking the skinny factory 235/55ZR17 all-season treads is easy, but Roush does the deed wearing huge 275/40ZR18 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD tires that pair with Roush's massive 18x10-in. forged-aluminum, chrome-plated five-spoke wheels. - John Kiewicz

Nice runs, the Roush 360R is a competitor to full bolt-on and tuned LS F-bodies if the Roush is left alone. Basically a high 12 second car with a good driver and 13.10's with a fair driver. With a smaller blower pulley and a re-tune they run very well.

Good kills.
