Default gear install problem, c-clip eliminators?

I bought a set of series 2 4.11s ( http://www.ringpinion.com/ProductDet...px?ProdID=1073 )for my 10 bolt. the shop called me and told me they can not get the c-clips in because of the gearset. they said that the only option is to either get another differential (I have a zexel torsen diff) or get c-clip eliminators. this is NOT a shop that will screw me over, I know the owner very well. I searched for c-clip eliminators on summit, I found these:

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294901296

the 1st one says will not work with factory disc brakes.
the 2nd one says "Fits stock factory axles. Designed for drag racing only. Will also work with three bolt housing flange and modifications are required." modifications? what kind of modifications?
the 3rd, 4th, and 5th ones say for aftermarket axles only.

my other option is an expensive diff.

I don't want to go pouring a ton of money in to a weak 10 bolt but I do NOT have the funds for a 9" or a 12 bolt, even a used one, so that is completely out of the question. what should I do?

A Torsen rear with 4.11's needs a two piece thrust block/ paddle/ block, which ever you prefer to call it. The c-clips go in fine, the block that keeps them in doesn't with 4.10 and up.

Dude listen. With 4.10's the stock block will not go in because it won't clear the gear.

Any idea whats going to happen if you let someone put a Torsen together without the block?
10 feet and it's gone.

Whats more pricey a new differential, or doing the job with the right parts?
Sure, the c clip eliminators will keep the axles in, but on a Torsen and no c lips, no paddle block, what keeps the side gears in? NOTHING.

Power is applied, they walk out, and your diff is destroyed.

And holy **** this is coming from a guy who DOESN'T work in a shop. I work at home on my own ****, because of stuff like this.

Bottom line if he just got c clip eliminators--he'd have money in those, he'd go 10 feet and ruin the diff, have to buy a new diff, and if he went back with a Torsen he'd be buying the two piece block.

I'm no financial expert but common sense tells me to buy the 2 piece block, put c clips in and be done with it the proper way the first time.

There is an alternative to the 2 piece block which is to grind a groove in the stock block, or grind a small flat on the ring gear.

I'd expect a competent shop to know this all.

I wasn't paying attention, I thought you were the OP at first.
Still I tend to just speak what I know without emotion, so people have said I come off as sounding like an ***. But I really don't want to see a follow up post saying the guys diff blew up because the mechanic left the block out.
