bigger wheels/power loss?

bigger wheels/power loss? on average how much power does going from a stock 16" wheel with a 245 to a 17" with a 315 cost ya? i raced a buddy of mine (01 t/a 6 speed with bolt ons) when i was bone stock. he got me by only about a car and a half. well now that i have my exhaust on and 4.10's along with the bigger wheels he still beat me by about the same amount. would the bigger wheels take away from the 4.10's that much?

Ya i was surprised when i shipped those out on how much they weighed. The front come in at 51lbs and the rears were 54lbs 
. The stocker the i ran on my car were only 38lbs
