Red face what should i do forged 347 or a brand new tsp 370

Ok i been doing alot of thinking and im still not sure at all. Should i reuse my block and and buy forged pistons and rods and my block has around 100k on it. Or should i just buy a new tps 370 for around $3000 and have a dependible motor to spray. And im planning on camming it adding some spray i do alot of frag racing. And how much power difference am i looking at for both motors cammed?

they can make 500+ with a nice setup 408 then like a 250 or 300 shot that would be sweet

when it cost the same to build a 347 or a 370 why would you do the smaller motor? its even proven heads flow better on the bigger bore.

just wondering

btw i vote 370

Just my personal preference for a forced induction motor I would do smaller cubes. If im going to do a larger cube motor why would I want/need nitrous unless Im trying to go single digits then it's a different case If bigger cubes is what he wants just build a high compression ls2 402 or a high compression 427 N/A or a iron block 408. With a nicely built trans/stall and rearend plus tire I can see high tens N/A maybe even mid 10s who knows.

If it's a choice of 347 or 370, I would go 370. If you go Iron block, a 408 is not that much more.

I think 370's go around $2,700 and a 408 goes for around $3,200

Why not a 383 ? Less money than the 370 since you already have a block. A 347 will leave you disappointed by spending all that money and making the same power.

The 383 is less money with your block and you save the weight. You can spray it if you want later as well.

Looking at your choices I'd probably take the 370 with the larger bore. That being said saving for a 408 would be by far your best plan!

LMAO! It's a money choice, has nothing to do with bore. He has the block already so he can save money by using it.

i`m building a 370 right now. the reason being that when i sold my ls1 block i bought a iron block and crank for about 200 more than i sold my old one for, after that the build cost was the same (or about) and i plan on spraying it alot so for me it just seemed like the better choice. now i`m beating my brains out trying to figure out heads but i think i`m leaning torwards trick flow 220 as cast heads

OP: Shoot me a PM with your email and zip and I will get you a couple quotes shot over to you so you can see what the price difference is between the 370 and 408. Also, what are your plans for heads? Let me know and we'll get something put together for you!
