Default Stock bottom end piston out of hole clearance?

Hey guys on average how much does the piston come out of cylinder on a stock bottom end LS1? Searched around for a bit and came up with .007 out of hole, just want to make sure thats about right.

That's about average yes. But every motor is different. Must check to be sure though.

Yes .007 is most commonly stated, but you can check yours cause it could very well be slightly different.

I'm swapping my lifters soon so Ill measure then. I have a new set of MLS gaskets ready to go on but Ive started thinking about optimum quench, so I'm guessing I would need a gasket like .045 to .040 to get me to a perfect .030.

Honestly Im bored and just started thinking random ****! Thanks guys!

Yes carbon build up would give you an in-correct (more out of the hole than actual) measurement, and he's saying to push the piston down to remove any "play" from the bearing clearance.

use the biggest numbers, is more pratical. The rods and such as at engine temp will get bigger, bearing clearence should always be in the middle. But just wnated to list the range of number you might see other listing.
