Is this for the truck in your sig? Also you might want to consider a procharger. The roots type blower gets heat soaked alot quicker then a centrifugal blower. I'm not bashing the KB at all it is a great unit but ask the mustang guys how much power they loose after 2,3,4 back to back pulls on the dyno. How much $$$ is the 454ci moter your looking at?

Yea, it's an '01 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3L. I've done a cam and LT's, among other things, but it's time to start planning the big one.

I thought about a centrifugal blower but I'm willing to trade off cooler charge air for a cleaner look (in my opinion). A decent heat exchanger should keep the incoming air cool enough to make some good horsepower.

The shortblock with machining and everything is coming in at a ballpark $6,000. Not bad for an LSX block and all the goodies I mentioned.

Looks like you're about to put $15k into a $5k truck. Sounds like it'll be a nasty project when it's done though.

Sounds good, one thing I would do is call KB and find out if that blower can handle the 454ci, it may not have the cfm.

It's a $6k truck, thank you very much! But you're right, it's not 'smart' but it's my truck, you know? I hope to keep it as long as I'm around.

Yea, I know the Magnacharger MP2300 made 950hp on a 434ci LSX. I might go with that one.

Nope, 2wd. A 4-link and wider tires will be going in.
