Default Fuel pressure sending unit bad?

I have an autometer cobalt series electric fuel pressure gauge. After installing duel pumps, 60lb injectors, and speedinc fuel rails.. i started the car up and my fuel pressure gauge only says 44psi. It doesnt move! I immediatly pulled the unit off the fuel rails..and installed a mechanical gauge. That one read about 60psi or so. Do these sending units go bad?
